Does something need to change?
Does something need to change?

Winner Winner – so, what’s for dinner?

Have you ever heard yourself (or others say), “oh yeah, but it’s no big deal” or something similar when it comes to a win of any description in life or business?

It’s so easy for many of us to just sweep our achievements under the carpet, because it can feel uncomfortable celebrating them.

And yet, it is worth celebrating. You put the hard work in that made it possible – and you damn well deserve to revel in the glory! Because YOU ARE A WINNER. It’s not about the size or the accolades, it’s about knowing that you achieved this.

I may not have taken home the gold, or silver, from the Beam Awards night this year, but it felt so good to be in a room with women and men who were so passionate about creating a positive change in the world. They were generous, open, supportive and so much fun to be with. What I took home was a sense of my own impact, and a reminder of all that I have achieved so far!  It’s so easy to forget when we are just going on to the next thing.

Your Challenge

I’d love to invite you to stop for a moment, and reflect on your wins – big and small.

  1. What have you achieved this week?
  2. What have you created this month?
  3. Who have you helped this quarter?
  4. How many lives have you influenced this year?

Sometimes we forget just how big an impact we can have – whether that is something “award worthy”, or even the person at the checkout who was having a crap day until we smiled and had a laugh with them.

The thing is, we make a difference every day. Even when we aren’t aware of it.

And it’s so important that we remember that and we actually acknowledge that without ourselves.

Making a difference – every day.

One of my favourite experience-creation moments was sharing the below video and challenging 80 University students to go out onto the streets (of Brisbane) and make someone’s day. It totally changed their perspective on the power and influence they have.

I’d love to invite you to look beyond the day to day tasks, and look at creating a lollypop moment everyday.

And then celebrate it!

Because you just changed someone’s day, and maybe their life. Even our smallest “wins” can have a massive impact for others. And that is so worth celebrating. ❤️
