The Power of Regional Women: Self Acceptance as a path to Freedom - A conversation with Natalie Gaul

We’ve been yarning with Natalie Gaul, a Mum, author of a beautiful book on valuing our own unique beauty, Cathartic breathwork coach and holistic life coach in regional NSW.

In a world filled with expectations and pressures, it can be easy to lose sight of who we truly are. We often find ourselves striving to meet external standards and seeking validation from others.

But what if the key to happiness and fulfillment lies in accepting ourselves as we are? Welcome to the Queen Be Podcast, where we bring you inspiring stories of women who are making a difference in their communities.

In today’s episode, we are joined by Natalie Gaul, a cathartic breathwork coach and holistic life coach. Natalie shars her personal journey and insights, shedding light on the importance of understanding ourselves, setting boundaries, and embracing our human experience.

Embracing Authenticity through Self-Acceptance

Natalie highlights the need to shift our focus from seeking validation from external sources to finding validation within ourselves. Natalie’s journey towards self-acceptance was not an easy one, but she recognized the importance of stepping into her own truth. She explained,

“I feel like I’ve got a clear path now. I’m comfortable being me.… This is who I am, essentially. I’m still the same as I always was. My relationship with myself is just a bit different, and that’s been a really big thing.”

“Who I need to be is coming from myself rather than outside of myself. So I don’t know whether that explains it…. I’ve been doing breathwork for so long, and then about 18 months ago, I had a lot of changes happen in my life and I’m, like, just stepped up into really owning it.”

The Power of Sharing Authentic Stories

Natalie stressed the importance of sharing authentic stories and experiences to create a sense of connection and support. She expressed,

“It’s so important to hear the stories about the people who are going through it. That is the human experience…. No one’s life is that sliding scale where it’s either all really bad or really good. It’s about sharing all the moments in between. Because that’s real life.”

She emphasized the need for safe spaces where individuals can share their vulnerabilities without judgment. Natalie stated,

“We’ve got to make sure that when we do share our vulnerabilities, that the person who we’re sharing with or the people that we are sharing with can actually hold that.”

Creating a supportive community where individuals can feel seen and heard is essential in fostering growth and healing.

The Importance of Boundaries and Discipline

Natalie highlighted the significance of setting boundaries and practicing discipline in our lives. She emphasized the need to understand our own limits and communicate them to others. Setting boundaries allows us to protect our emotional well-being and ensure that our needs are met.

She also emphasized the importance of discipline in achieving personal growth. Natalie shared her own experiences, stating,

“Discipline is a really important part of growth, as is honesty. They are probably the two other things where our growth and being able to get through difficult times is… how quick that happens is literally based on how honest a person can be with themselves.”

Looking Forward

In a world that often pressures us to conform and seek external validation, the journey to authenticity and self-acceptance is a powerful one. Natalie Gaul’s insights shed light on the transformative power of accepting ourselves as we are and embracing our human experience. By understanding ourselves, setting boundaries, and practicing discipline, we can create a life that aligns with our true selves.

As we move forward, it is crucial to continue sharing authentic stories and creating safe spaces for individuals to connect and support one another. By embracing our vulnerabilities and honoring our unique journeys, we can foster growth, healing, and a sense of belonging. The future holds immense potential for personal growth and self-discovery, as we continue to navigate the complexities of being human.
